I'm gonna need a new PSU i know.

Well then what would be a recomended upgrade? The new nv cards that are competition for the 4890 dontseem that good. And I really wanted these.

You will want a board that can run both pci-e lanes at max bandwidth so you want either an x38 or x48 board if you are not upgrading the processor as well, or any of the x58 boards if you are making the leap to i7...

the nvidia 275 runs fine against the 4890.

WHat res do you play at, do you really "need" Xfire or SLI ?

i have a samsung 32 inc that i use as a monitor but the ******* only does 1378 x 768 so I might get either a tv that does 1080p or a monitor that has higer res.

and i won't upgrade the cpu but i will be making my first attempt at oc'ing in the coming weeks

ya for that TV you dont even need a new video card at all.

Wait until you get a new monitor / tv then decide.

my 4890 handles the games i play fine at 1920 x 1080 on my dell 23' LCD.

You have a singleone? I don't know radeon which is the best. In an evga fanboy lol
