Ok, I finally got around to it. The answer to the question a lot of folks are asking. Here it is, see for yourself!!! :bday:

3DMark Compares!!!

I forgot to take a SS of the 06 run apparently so please forgive me. The compare link is in here tho. This card is installed in Rig2 of sig with the only change being the 6800GT is replaced by the 7950GX2, its running stock @ 500/1200 for all tests, and the Opty 165 is 2265Mhz. I let windows pick up the 91.31 drivers that were already installed. This rig is an untweeked, "default" settings rig that I only use for surfing the web and chatting. This may change now though since it blew my Rig1 scores with the 7950GX2 in it out of the water!!!

I do have a lot of the games review sites use to show performance but it's late and I'm too lazy to install F.E.A.R., Farcry, AOE3, Riddick, Oblivion, HL2, Rainbox Six:Lockdown, and Doom3 and patch them all on this rig. Maybe if I wise up and make this rig my "Rig1" I'll do it.

So there it is!!! I'm going to sleep :)

uh...no...

Only 1 7950GX2. I actually thought there would a lot more interest in this result. Oh well.

The last time I tried it I got around 6600 :(

However, I just installed the latest version of Directx, going to try it again. :)

Illyest, that is sweet... you have answered a question that alot of people have been interested in!!! Many will be very happy to see positive results with that vid card/ mobo combination!!! Don't be discouraged about a lack of responses at this point, it is the weekend, after all :D

if you posted in the other amd mobo's section you be the man of the year. This is awesome news i must say! Good on ya.

Pitty i don't have billions to blow on a graphics card. And my pcie16 slot is looking to empty too

I actually posted a reply to a "7950 on DualSaTa2 worky?" Thread as well. Not really worried about it anymore :)

Well i did it. The intel rig is my alt rig now but I ended up replacing the trusty ASRock with an A8N32 SLI DLX.

Have to say I made a good decision, I'm pretty well impressed with this combo :) A few 3DMark scores...

7950 still at stock but the Asus seems to edge out the ASRock in all the tests. The 06 run I did at 2610 (290x9) where I couldnt get past 278 stable on the ASRock with the same volts :(. I think this mobo (and gfx card) are 2 of my better investments in the last couple years :)

I've just bought one of the old 7900GX2 (the 12" long one). My first was duff, and waiting for the RMA, bought virtually the same setup as yourself (AN8-32). My scores are within 5% of yours (latest signed drivers).
X3 is now playable with all the bells turned on.
Yeah !!
I went from an ASROCK Dual (I should have read your thread, would have saved myself a motherboard)
Thanks for all the info.

If i wasnt for the fact I have 4 SATA devices I would've stuck with the ASRock also. The P4 was bottlenecking me bad so I knew it was time to make the switch. In hind sight tho, that $174 I paid for the A8N32 couldve went toward's an IDE hard drive and had some change left ofer. I'm only getting 10HHT more on the A8N32 with stock volts AND SI-120 than I was at stock volts and stock HSF on the DualSATA2....oh well.

PS: I cranked up the settings on X3 also. the 7950 does make quite a difference, even over the 7900GTX I stepped-up from :).
