Did a little upgrade of my internet system (q6600 8gb ram to i7-870 with 12gb ram) and things are running pretty smooth. Firefox alone takes up 2gb... I'm just wondering if there's any web content that the i7 can handle better than the 6600? It seems that way atm, however maybe the old system was just suffering from windows rot.

Was the system on an ssd? That makes all the difference regarding the gradual slowdown that windows seems to experience.
Also, subjectively, switching from my fx 8120 to a haswell chip made my browsing experience way faster. Buuuut, I have 50 tabs open across 3 windows, and some of my addons are kind of buggy. Your experience my vary.
Turning on javascript makes it all the more obvious.
