Windows Xp BOot time

When my computer post windows takes about 15 minutes to load
So far I done a chkdsk /r and no bad sectors were found.

Please help I really don't want to format my hd to fix this.
By the way my computer is partition. The other space is unformated

Try plugging your IDE cable in to the other channel on your motherboard.

you don't have to reformat the whole harddrive if its partitioned, just the partition that windows is on. i am partitioned and i reformat atleast ever 4 weeks

Make sure you HDD is on DMA and on the fastest setting possible (esp if preformance is slow elsewhere) and then you could give a shot with BootVis.

is this pc part of a domain? If so, this is usually caused by a DNS mis configuration.

I figured it out. The reason it was taking so long to boot was I didn't delete the linux partition on my Hd I delteted most of it but I left the extended partition active duh!1
