Hi all,

maybe someone has an idea what the cause for a rather strange problem is. please dont hold any idea back :)

Environment:

PC with IPCOP (www.ipcop.org) 1.46 is main router and gateway between DSL and intranet.
He provides DNS, DHCP, Port forwarding, sniffing, and firewall services.

The IPCOP hangs on a normal DLINK switch.

A DWL-1000AP+ (http://support.dlink.com/products/view.asp?productid=DWL-1000AP+) is the access point to the intranet. He is configured to use the IPCOP computer as gateway and DNS server.

Clients to the normal intranet (over cable) are 4 computers.
they all use 192.168.0.1 (ipcop computer) as gateway and dns server. (fixed ips)

Clinets to wlan are 3 computers.
1. Notebook with DWL650+ PCMCIA card
2. DWL900AP+ in client mode allows a computer from another house to connect to the WLAN.
3. here the problematic: BELKINhttp://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=&Product_Id=180574 USB WLAN AirG allows a Shuttle SN41G2 to connect to the local WLAN network.

Everything works OK most of the time. Than suddenly from time to time (around 8 times the day) the Belkin client can no longer access the internet. He can still ping the intranet, but all internet activity is not working anymore. Than after 2-10 min it will start working right by itself again without user interaction. Keep in mind though that only the belkin had the connection problem in this time and only towards the wide internet.
All other WLAN clients work OK in that time. All internet access from other clients is still possible.

I already changed from WEP encryption to no encryption (although it has nothing to do direclty with this problem, but who knows..)
for me it could be a DNS resolve problem, but why would it affect only the BELKIN client ?

does anyone have anidea ??
any help welcome,
dodger
