Memory: Crucial DDR3 1333MHz 16GB 4x4GB
Video Card: XFX Radeon HD 7850 2GB GDDR5 PCI-Express 3.0 (OC'd to 1050Mhz, from 860Mhz stock)
HDDs: Corsair SSD Force Series 3, 120GB 2.5" and a Barracuda 1TB 7200rpm.
Sound Device: Creative SB Recon3D Fatal1ty Champion

Running Windows 7 Ultimate

Ok, so this is my results while running IntelBurn Test after 20 mins.
Somehow when running Prime95, 2 outta 4 cores shut down to idle. Maybe I'm doing some wrong settings. But with IntelBurnTest all cores are running at 100%

With these temps, should i dare up the multiplier more ?

Changes made to BIOS is Multiplier upped to x22,5(4,5Ghz), and upped the Volt to 1,5V. Also turned off the so-called green ****.

Oh btw, the 94celsius at "Max" on TMPIN2" gotta be some sensor fault. Was sitting here 90 % of the time, and max was 58.

First thing : IBT is not what you should use for stability testing

Second : you're ram timings are Totaly wrong which is probably the cause of prime crapping out straight away

Third : you're CPU NB is at 800 when it should be 2000 (stock)

What you need to do us set you're ram timings to the settings in jedec #5 column of CPUz then up the CPU NB multiplier so that you're at 2000 or slightly higher (not lower) then try and run p95 and see how you get on

Edit: I'm going to bed now so won't be able to help you until later but those things should sort it out for now, make sure temps don't go over ~55c during p95

Alright, I'll give that a try.
Strange though, as I've not touched CPU NB.

DL'ing CPUz aswell.

Alright.

Forgot to mention another change in BIOS I've done, put Load Line Control on "Extreme".

Put my CPU NB Freq. at 2000. It stood at "Auto", but it also said 2000Mhz in grey behind it. So it should really been doing 2000 then..? But anyways, locked it at x10 (2000Mhz) now.

Also in the "Item help"-section it says;
Warning: If cpu nb freq. lower than HT link speed, system will correct freq. as default.

HT link freq. is at "Auto" (2400Mhz)

Not quite familiar with messing around with ram timings.
I'll try post a pic of my BIOS with the timings.

Some pics from my BIOS.
Took some from different pages, so maybe you can tell me if I'm doing something very wrong :)

Btw, planning on downgrading the volt from 1,5V as much as possible when things run like they should.

+1 keny.
after you get the things keny has mentioned, and it looks like he is so right, you need to look at your "vcore" that's high for 4.5.
but get the issues keny mentioned first.

Ye, gonna look at the vcore when things are running good.
Also wanna try to up the speed some more aswell. Would like to see 4,7 maaaaybe 4,8 first :) But think I'm gonna land on 4,6 if that is possible.

my 4170 runs at 4.8 all the day long, cool and quiet, the big jump in vcore comes a little above 4.9 but i have a bit more cooling than you and i run 1600 ram. but you really need to get the things keny pegged first or you may get noplace at all.

somepalce around i have a screensot of the bios mem timmings marked up by our good friend Rgone that should help you a little, I will try to find it tonight when i make it home.

oh, look i happen to have a copy on every computer i own.........

I wonder why that would be?????

Would really apreciate that, as I've never messed with ram timings before :)

Messed some with my wife's computer aswell. But I backed off, as it idled at 55celsius. Upped it from 2,6 too 3 on stock voltage. Phenom x4 9950 Black Edition.
Think I'll get some better cooling in there before i do anything again :p
Cores are actually at 46celsius on stock settings, without any load.

Think I'll cut a hole in that case and mount a big fan :p

with the pic is much verbage but' you don't need that right now.
I have a 9850 in a vister machine at 2.5 i replaced a 9150 at 1.8. it really helped that anvil of an operating system.

Have you flashed the latest bios...

...something odd about your bios pictures for the MOBO: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3.
1. I thought Giga finally got into the 21st century with a UEFI style bios for all their motherboards.

2. Released with the 'older-look' Award bios but when flashed to a bios from about Feb or March of 2012, the bios then appeard as UEFI.

3. Not having up to date bios might explain whey the CPUz captures have such strange read outs for data. That or maybe not having the latest CPUz.

4. You might have a very early edition motherboard that the latest bios or at least a bios from a couple of months into 2012, should be showing bios menus as UEFI but cannot because the board is very early edition.

5. I would certainly check bios versions.

^^^^^ yeah definately something not working right if those are you're settings and CPUz was reading Totaly wrong, if the new version of CPUz is reporting the same values as before I would consider flashing you're bios to the newest release but try not to use the beta (if there is one), as it stands though, those settings look ok where they are but sometimes values change when rebooting to windows if thre left on auto :/

Alright. Trying to flash my bios then. My current version is from may 2012, and there is one from october 2012.

CPUz version 1.62 gives the same readings as 1.61.
