I want to create a RAID 1 array with two drives. Do I use the Highpoint software to create the array first and then use Partition Magic (or FDISK) to format the disks (which appear as one disk to Partition Magic when done in this order)? Or do I format the disks separately first and then create the array in the Highpoint software?
I'm asking because I'm in the middle of trying the first method, and all Partition Magic sees is one drive. Now, this makes sense because I set it up in the Highpoint software as a RAID 1 array, but I guess what I'm concerned about is, as I'm formatting, I have no way to confirm that it's formatting both drives. When I'm all done, is there a way to confirm that the array was set up correctly and is performing properly?
Thanks,
Eggroll
