I have a jpeg thats around 36 KB and I want to shrink it to the 10K size.

Whats the best way ... or a free way to do this? I don't have photoshop and I have not been able to figure out how to do it with MS Paint.

You can lower the size by messing around with the attributes width and height AND Stretch/skew from the Image tab.

Wow, I was about to bash you on how thats Linux only... I hadn't looked at the page in a while and found that there is indeed now a Win version.

Thanks!

How good is Gimp compared to PaintshopPro?

Edit: I went ahead and installed Gimp on my XPpro system. I still haven't figured out how to integrate GhostScript/GhostView into Gimp so it can see PS files. I have 'em all installed as speparate apps.

It's kinda weird looking seeing the Gimp fox icon on my XP desktop.

Thanks! I was looking for something free to do this. irfanview seams to be very friendly. Any Idea what the plugins do or which ones to get?

Theres also www.myimager.com witch can resize images online for you, not the best tool i know but if you are on 56k then it could save you a lot of time downloading the program.
