Hey onlypro,
I also wasn't sure what effect the paint would have, so I taped off the fins and just painted the top and the side that could be seen thru my case window.

I would have to assume that if you painted any of the fin area you would be decreasing the thermal transfer capability of the heatcore.

I dont think it will matter much as long as you keep the layer very thing. Gilbert Plus painted his core red so you should ask him
yes painting can decrease performance of a heatercore. the more coats of paint the more the degradation. It depends on the kind of paint. talk to radiator repair people about the kind to use if you must paint it.
