locked 2500+

I was wondering what some of you are talking about. I thought all amd procs. were unlocked or at least unlockable.
I ve read a few post thou that say different?
Whats the story????
I am wondering if i should run out and buy one now while there might be a old 2500+ I can get.

well with the latest bartons that are being released in the mainstream market (non mobile) and i think 3200+'s are excluded too.. (anyone verify?), the bartons are locked to a point where no one has found a certian way to unlock them. it was some of the earlier processors, non barton, that were locked and could bridge the gaps of the bridges to unlock them.

but either way... if your mem can support it.. then just raise the FSB...
