On one of my old athlon pcs, windows xp would display "it's safe to shut down your pc now" once i hit shutdown and i'd have to manually push the power button. I am at my wits end on this issue as it just poped up one day. I don't know if it's a connection/bios or windows issue. Any ideas?

Just create a shortcut on your desktop:

Right click on an empty space on the desktop and select New > Shortcut

In the command line box type the following :

C:\windows\system32\shutdown.exe -s -t 00

Then you can right click the new icon, go to "Change Icon" & Select an appropriate icon. See Attachment for the one I use.
