Water Filtering

I was thinking about putting a filter in my water cooling setup. Now what if I just filter it before I put it in. Like run the distilled water through a brita filtered pitcher and then put it in the system. Would this help or does the brita filter add minerals to the water?

Its pointless. It will get effected by the metal in the system, but running a filter somewhere in your loop would work(much like cathar does).
