Does silicone stand up to anti freeze.

I just had one person tell me that Antifreeze would eat away the silicone and another say it was fine.
I personally didnt think it would but since someone said it would its got me thinking.
 
Well AFAIK Antifreeze contains covalent solvents. And Silicone is a covalent substance so I think it might eat away at it. Not 100% sure though.
 
Silicone tubing? I wouldnt use it, it is too porous and does stain and absorb most everything.
 
nope, on some serious silicone tubing and a LOT of antifreeze here and i don't see any of my tubing disappearing or anything


and the stuff runs clear as the day when i got it

i was going to line the res with silicone because of scraping the aluminum tops. I give it a go. Ill just test it a little longer. Thanks
