Ddr2 ram question

Hi all, is there any sign of amd motherboards getting ddr2 anytime soon, or ever?

word is not till 2006. right now the memory on die controller puts out monster bandwidth even at ddr speeds..(especially when oc'ed)

I may just open up a large debate and be cursed by the cpu gods but...isn't ddr2 essentially dual channel? As far as performance is concerned.

my under standing is Dual Channel DDR is DDR that must be run in Pairs, DDR2 Clocks faster then DDR and carries twice the data per clock, BUT unfortunately DDR2 has higher latencies then DDR

Good DDR is 2-2-2-6 at 200MHz
Good DDR2 is 4-4-4-12 at 266MHz when latencies are concerned
