HELP ARGENT!! windows xp

ok my computer was ****ing up so i decided to reformat my hard drive..
then i tryed to install my antivirus and firewall and other programs but windows doesnt seem to want me too..
no matter which antivirus or firewall i try none of them will install..
and some of them will **** my computer up even more...

does anyone know how i can fix this??

i have reinstalled windows a few times already.

i have windows xp home sp1 (oh and my computer wont let me update to sp2)

any help would be great

You should be able to upgrade any legit version of XP to SP2. I would recommend doing that.

If you cant upgrade then call microsoft support line.

I am curious as well as to what errors you get when you try to install SP2.
