I bought a KVM switch some months ago with which I am now disappointed. I took a moment to post a review at Newegg's website to warn other buyer's of the problems I experienced. BTW, this is for the following KVM switch ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817107608 )
While reading the reviews, I saw that there were other complaints of screen flicker and I felt like other people should know that there are other people who have experienced the same type issues.
My best guess is that Newegg didn't like my last line of "This was a wasted purchase"... but I'm not sure which rule that violates in the "What NOT to include in your submission" section.
I guess my point is that after having my review rejected, it makes me very leery of basing any of my purchase decisions on NewEgg customer reviews. Overwhelmingly, reviews at NewEgg tend to be glowingly positive. We all know that not ALL products are great and NewEgg sells their share of duds -- it can't be avoided in retail. If NewEgg tends to filter out things that don't paint a rosy picture, do these reviews really do much good?
Perhaps the NewEgg rep who posts here can provide some feedback. What exactly was wrong with the review that I've pasted below. I understand that it is NewEgg's decision as to what gets posted and what doesn't. If my review was over the top, I'd like to see a revised version of my review that would express dissatisfaction with the product and *would* make it through NewEgg's review system.
A customer review section is only meaningful if both happy and unhappy customers are represented.
Thanks!
Mitch

DECLINED REVIEW
========================================================
This thing causes eye strain. It wasn't very noticable at first, but after a few nights of headaches I saw that this KVM switch is causing screen flicker and a slight shakyness in my picture. I'm running two boxes, one with an ATI 9800 Pro and the other is an All-In-Wonder card. These are common video cards, using the current monitor and video card drivers... the flicker goes away when I plug my monitor directly into my video card.
Also, I'm not real crazy about the fact that this KVM switch uses a single USB port for both my mouse and keyboard. It means that I have to plug in my keyboard and mouse directly to my PC if I want to boot up and go into setup.
This was a wasted purchase.
