i think i may have corrupted my win xp while OC. (constant reboots might have done this.)

i get the error that my /system file is either corrupted or missing.

any ideas on how to fix this? i would want to save my current install as i have a lot stored already and would very much hate re-installing.

thank you guys.

I'm assuming the error message you're receiving is... "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\System32\Config\System". If this is the case, boot to the Recovery Console, and type the following commands (hitting ENTER after each):

cd system32\config
ren system system.old
ren system.alt systemalt.old
copy c:\windows\repair\system
copy c:\windows\repair\regback\system
exit

The above method is also quite a bit less involved, and more hassle free than the procedure in the following MSKB article...

How to recover from a corrupted registry that prevents Windows XP from starting

The following MSKB article describes the installation and use of the Recovery Console...
