Nope you don't NEED one, but it deffinitly makes bleading your system ALOT faster! You can just use a simple T-line instead of using a res!

Means getting the air out of the system, Its a whole lot easier to do with a reservoir then with a T-line

it takes 15 minutes for my system to bleed with a t-line. why do people keep saying it takes hours or days? you just turn the pump on and off... that is why i bought an AT powersupply

You don't need one but they are handy especially when it comes to bleeding the system and adding coolant.
