Is it suggested to update a bios? I heard that it could make your mobo a paper weight. If it is suggested what is the best way to update it?

Well first of all, a bios update is only required if you're having problems with your cpu and mobo not working properly together. This usually resolves issues with stability when ocing. Or if you're upgrading cpu and the new bios will aid in the chip being recognized by the board.

Only way the update will get screwed up is if you flash it wrong by not following instructions, power fails during the update procedure or the bios file itself is corrupted.

If your setup is running normally and as it should, then there's no need for a bios update.

In other words: if it ain't broke, don't fix it ;)

Can I update the BIOS on the Gigabyte EP45 D3SL board using a USB stick?
How would i go about doing this?
