What a great piece of hardware!
I installed a Q9550 Quad Core CPU, 4 X 2 GB Gskill DDR800 memory and the rest of my components and went right into the BIOS.
First thing - up the voltage on the memory to 2.0 V (2.0 - 2.1 V spec) and then I upped the FSB to 400 for an overclock from 2.83 Ghz to 3.4 Ghz.
I kept the multi at 8.5, and the ram at 800 (2.00 X 400) with the timings on spec at 4-4-4-12, saved & then went into Windows 7 for some testing.
It never skipped a beat and primed for 2 hours without any errors.
So then I went back in and upped the FSB to 450 for an O/C of 3.82 Ghz. I left the divider at 2.0 and the Gskill handled the increase to 900 without any issues at all
During testing the max temps got close to 70C so I stopped Priming until I reseat the HSF.

So for me, I feel good about sticking with the socket 775- this will last me for some time to come.
And what is going to happen to the GA-965P-DS3 & Conroe 6600 it replaced? Well, they go out in the mail on Monday to my brother- he's going to put together a new rig for my Dad.
