Alright so i can get 4ghz on an ep45 at a vcore of 1.408 and mch is 1.26. I set my latch to 400mz at 2.00 so my ram runs at 1000mhz 5-5-5-15, ram is at stock setting stock volts.

To get to 4ghz i use 500x8. My PLL, TERMs, and REF voltages are all auto. Right now im trying 4.165ghz 490x8.5 So im assuming my mch and my ram should all be fine. I bumped my vcore to 1.440 and prime95 fails the second core after 16 minutes the other 3 keep chugging away. Tried uping my pll to 1.56 did nothing to help the situation any suggestions? also how is running a 45 nm at these hi of voltages? my peak temps are never above 70c in a room that is 80 degrees ambient

Instead of running such a high FSB, drop it down to 445MHz x 9 = 4.0GHz, and change the MCH Latch to 333 w/ a 2.00B multiplier = 890MHz DRAM frequency w/ tighter NB timings (w/ Static tRead Value / tRD / Performance Level in CPU-Z on AUTO). Or keep the Latch at 400 and 2.00D, but try lowering numerically the Static tRead Value by 1.

well my ram sucks it 2v 5-5-5-15 1000 wont hit lower timings or nething above 1020mhz lol so i just try to keep it stocked. What is the theory behind the lower fsb higher multiplier using less voltage? I was under the assumption if im running a hi fsb id be loading the mch down a lil more than the vcore.

Plus like i said only one core fails i know something with the ref voltages can help that but im not quite sure what ref voltages are or how to utlize them right on this mobo becuase the menu options are so diffrent from my asus boards

Your RAM should easily hit >1020MHz, but with 8GB and a FSB : DRAM ratio of 1:1 at a FSB of 500MHz+, you'll need to compensate heavily by increasing the vNB / vMCH and / or increasing DRAM voltage combined w/ looser timings. There's just too much strain on the NB w/ that much RAM installed, running at DDR2-1000MHz+, and w/ the FSB so high. You'll have a much better chance of achieving a higher clock by lowering the FSB, and in turn lowering the DRAM frequency. You might even want to try 400MHz x 10 and work your way up from there. Change the MCH Latch to 333 w/ a 2.40B multiplier for an effective 960MHz DRAM frequency.

well im currently at 800mhz ram 5-5-5-15 10.5x400=4.2 anf my chip wont even stabalize at 1.47 volts

Your chip shouldn't need anywhere near 1.47V to reach 4.2GHz (1.4V maybe). Post your latest Prime stable settings using this template for the EP45, and also a CPU-Z screenshot of the CPU tab while running Prime...

Ok well ill post a few stable settings at diffrent bus speeds if ya want my ghz stable is a 500mhz bus. Which id acually rather not use anyways becuase i want to push the frequency on my ram as hi as i can.

is there a way to export a txt file of all the bios settings? i tried to save the bios settings to a floppy and hex it but that didnt do much..

Your settings look OK, other than primarily the MCH Core voltage. Try my settings from post #2, but lower the Vcore to about 1.3 - 1.35 at 4.0GHz to start. Increase the MCH Core to 1.35V, CPU Ref. voltage to 0.7850V, CPU Termination to 1.3V, and Command Rate to 2T. This is w/ the MCH Latch at 400, and the System Memory Multiplier at 2.00D.
