In a failed attempt to do something intelligent, i emailed Gigabyte and asked if they could comment on Xeon support. I'm thinking like X3370/X3380 which is Q9650 and above in Xeon flavor. Pretty much the fastest chip that fits in the board. I had already looked in the CPU compatibility chart, and realised that the Xeon flavor CPU's are strangely none present.
Did i fall in to some joke-pit? They are pin compatible, are they not? (socket 775, FC-LGA8)
Have anyone tried running any X3000 series, Socket 775 based chip on a EP45-DS4/EP45-DS-4P? If ya did, did it work?
I'm going to pay a premium either way i guess, but it helps if you have more options. (Well, Premium, for a x775 CPU anyway. It's not going to be like a top end I7 or so)
