I am almost finished building my first rig using the AMD II X2 555 BE C3. My mobo is MSI 785G-E53. I impatiently await delivery of my memory G.skill ripjaws DDR3 1600 F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL (4Gx2) to complete the build. I am anxious to test the system now and to do so I am tempted to go to Frye's today to pick up a 2Gx2 Patriot mem kit of DDR3 1333MHz DUAL G2PGD34G1333ELK http://goo.gl/euzxv (This kit is only $30 less $25 rebate.)
The G.skill site says that mem test voltage is 1.5V and does not include my mobo on the recom. list. http://tinyurl.com/3cvuvzu It strongly recommends that for an AMD platform, to follow the voltage/timing as specification to stabilize your system instead of select AUTO/Default.
The Patriot mem is rated at 1.67v. http://tinyurl.com/3wxmrbs
I do wish to try overclocking and am concerned about how each mem set would work with my CPU and mobo and if they would beneficially work together or best alone. Suggestions greatly appreciated.
