DIMM 1 and 3 or 1 and 2

ok could this make a difference in FSB?

i have 2 x 256mb ddr ram chips.
1 in dimm-1
1 in dimm-3

i took the one out of dimm-3 (there the same ram)
and i can hit a higher fsb stable when 1 and 3 wont.
i want a T.T heatspreder /w fan on my other one so it wont fit in dimm-2 inless i cut the fan off.

do you think that putting them in dimm 1 and 2 would allow me at the fsb am at with just 1 stick?

and also i have fained +4fsb and havnt tried higher yet waiting to know if i should take the fan off the heat spreader and try dimm 1/2

Check your mobo manual (or go online and read the Pdf manual)

They recommend what slots you should use with 2 sticks sometimes.
