What are the differences between the Audigy2 (basic model and/or Platinum model) and the integrated sound offered in the Chaintech 9JCS Zenith motherboard (http://www.chaintechusa.com/tw/eng/product_spec.asp?MPSNo=13&PISNo=144)
I don't know much about sound cards, but the board boasts the following audio features:
-On-board 7.1-Channel audio
-24-bit resolution audio format support
-Sampling rates up to 96KHz
-Multi-channel AC-link supported alternatively
-Supports SPDIF Out
I will be using it mostly for movies and games... would the sound quality decrease noticably if I were to get the Chaintech mobo and just use the onboard sound, over another mobo and a basic audigy2 (ie. cheapest)? What are the pros/cons of each?
