Which duron to get?

I have seen similar prices in the durons from around 600-800 and I know I have seen a lot of people OCing the 600s to over 1ghz. I have enough cooling (water coolers) to OC a duron to a good amount, so which one should I get for maximum mhz w/OC? I just want the highest mhz, so even if a 600 OCs more than an 800, the 800 still might have a higher overall mhz, and I want that. Anybody with results from durons rated at 600-800mhz and the OC they get please post them

My Duron 600 does 10x100 @ 1.80V or 8x133 @ 1.85V and 8x137 @ 2.05V. Probably could get it higher, but it's been on loan since the new mobo came in.

I have a 750 with the stepping code of 'AMCA' that is stable at 1055Mhz 1.8V.

Since AMD is always tweaking and refining the process, you are most liely to get the ultimate clockspeed out of a Duron with stepping code 'ANCA' or better. They are all great values, regardless of which particular Duron you receive.

I was at PCNut and they have a duron 650 for $40, a duron 600 for $65 and a socket A birdie 650 for $50. Which is the best deal here for overclocking? Will a duron 650 do as well as a 600? Is a tbird 650 better at OCing than a duron 600-800?

Ok, u want some 600-800 overclocking results? I have overclocked many Durons in that speed range. I'll give you all the results I've got

Duron 600 to 1000 mhz
Duron 600 to 950 mhz
Duron 700 to 950 mhz
Duron 700 to 950 mhz
Duron 700 to 950 mhz
Duron 700 to 950 mhz
Duron 700 to 950 mhz
Duron 700 to 950 mhz
Duron 700 to 1000 mhz
Duron 750 to 1000 mhz
Duron 800 to 1000 mhz

please note all overclock speed are rounded down to the highest 50 mhz increment they were stable at, so if a CPU was stable at 990, i put it as 950, and if a CPU made 1030, it was rounded to 1000.

If I were u I would go with a Duron 750, you can pick them up for $45 and they seem to perform really well.

I don't think the 650 t-bird will do more than 850 mhz from what i hear, thought i have not tested them myself. Also, I hear that 650 durons do not overclock quite as well as Duron 600's or 700's, but i have never tested a 650 though I have used 600's and 700's.
