how to remove fx5900 heatsink? Tips?

I have a bfg 5900 and would like to remove the heatsink and at least get rid of the sticky tape adheasive and replace with thermal grease. Im thinkin of removing all but base plate and water cooling the unit. Ive done the basics , removed the pins but this baby wont budge and i dont want to ruin it.
Any Tips?

Basically. Freeze it in a plastic bag for like 20 minutes. Instead of a screwdriver, try to get underneath and at least break the edges of the seal with a credit card, then try prying a little and pulling and it should pop off. Clean off the core and apply some thermal compound and you are ready to go. Keep in mind that if there are no clips to hold the heatsink on you are going to need some kind of adhesive. Good luck!
