I'm trying to figure out what core the 5600 Non-ultra is, and what bios I could flash it to to make it something higher up.

I can get 375/660 stable, so if theres anything out there with the same core and same clocks (or a little bit lower) than help me out! :). I was thinking the 5600 Ultra.

Thanks.

The 5600 has the NV31 core.So does the ultra. So,in theory you could flash the 5600 to 5600 ultra speeds. Only problem is,the ultra runs at 400/800.
So that is pretty much not going to happen.

375/660 is pretty darned good! I don't get near that with mine, but mine has stock cooling too. Are you artifact free at those speeds?

Yes, at 375/660, it's 100% stable, not one artifact, ever. Funny enough, I'm also using stock cooling. I'm selling it hopefully though, to get my 6800GT

How do I flash it? I don't know what bios it has, or even what brand of card it is. some help?

What's your 3DMark2001 and AquaMark scores on that sucker??? I get about 10,600 on 3DMark2001 and a bit over 18000 in AquaMark. You won't get much out of that card :(

400/800 is the speed of the 2nd rev 5600u, which is the flip-chip design.

you have the original core thats clocked at 325/550(right?), and i am pretty sure the ultra speed on the old core was only 350/700 so you probably wont get any farther with a bios flash...

btw-- my 3dmark03 is about 2800, 3dmark01 is about 10k something, and aquamark3 is about 20k, i forget my exact scores.

Well, the two of you have very speedy cpu's,so the 5600 is really a decent choice for a budget card that is no slouch for the money.

If I run my sig @stock speed I get 10,800+ on 3d2k1 and 25,000 on aquamark.
Those score are nonsense when it comes to real gaming.
I can play all my games just fine @1024x768 with 2x aa and 8x AF with almost full detail.Although the 9600XT does a better job with the eye candy than the 5600.
Some of my games are,
Black hawk down
Madden 2004
Need for speed underground and hot pursuit 2.
SOF2
UT2k4
I bet you could run these games just fine.

Whoa, I didn't even notice people replied!

My 3dmark2001SE score = 11,681
My 3dmark2003 score = 3,160

I won't bother trying to flash it at all really, i'm selling it in a few weeks, getting me my 6800GT :D
