its lga775, it says motherboard chipset not socket 975 if thats what ya meant.

My guess is that the virtulization software only works on the new chipset. I am confident that the newer chips can be used on the older boards but will lack vT.

yeah it is, we thought that it would work on the 955 chipset, and it won't like. The old dual cores will work on both 955 and 975
