Hi guys I've never built a computer but I am pretty confident in making my first gaming rig. I've been reading and learning a lot about everything in general. I want to make a new extreme gaming PC that's future proof.
What I came up with is this build. I also plan to overclock but I only have the gist of it. Is it really hard to do?
-Antec Twelve Hundred Black Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case
-EVGA 132-BL-E758-A1 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard
-XFX GX260NADBF GeForce GTX 260 Black Edition Core 216 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card
I plan on buying 2 of these to run in SLI
-COOLMAX CUG-950B 950W ATX12V V.2.2 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Active PFC Power Supply
-Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor Model BX80601920
-CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TR3X6G1600C9
-Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
-SAMSUNG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Black SATA Model SH-S223Q
-Logitech G5 2-Tone 7 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Laser Mouse
-Logitech G11 Silver & Black USB Standard Gaming Keyboard
-The last thing I need is a good CPU cooler, I want the best performance so I can overclock good. I Plan to overclock to about 4ghz in the end.
This all comes down to $1960.90 pre-tax and shipping. (Not including the CPU cooler I'm going to buy)
Do I need to alter anything? Could I be making a faster build that is cheaper and also future proof? Thanks in Advance
