GTX680 + DisplayPort = Screen Tear?

This only happens about 1 in 10 boots, same side of screen. Unplugging DPort from card and back in solves the problem. My question is where is this originating from? Card? Cable? Monitor? The two latter are from 2008.

Nothin, eh? I've blown air in the nintendo cartridge connector a few times so it ain't dust.
 
Regular old DVI works fine, but then again the problem doesn't happen every time. I suppose I can leave DVI hooked up for a week and see if the problem happens again.


Edit: A note: The tear only appears at the logon screen, never before. If it appears again I'll see if it continues when logging in.
