What is the easiest way to hook up to computers to a cable connection? Any specific brands? thanks

easiest way.

purchase 3 lan cards and put 2 into the machine that will share the cable connection. Put one into the other computer. The computer with the 2 lan cards, choose the card with the cable modem installed and use ICS (microsoft internet connection sharing). Connect the other 2 lan cards with a cross over cable.

or

purchase a cable modem router.

an easier, but more expensive way would be to buy a cable/dsl router with a hub ( my linksys was about $100 or so) and connect it to your modem, then connect the computers to it. the routers also have a built in firewall and DHCP server.
