VPN for RDP connection?

I have a friend who asked me to set up RDP for his computer so his accountant can remote in and use his local computer. I'm good with doing that, but I'm used to a corporate environtment with a pre-existing VPN setup. I'm not getting much luck searching for VPN since everything I'm seeing is VPN for browsing clients as opposed to a simple VPN to allow an RDP connection between 2 computers. Windows 10 on both of these computers and not a big budget.

Any suggestions?

Maybe setting up something like Tailscale or Wireguard?
