hey gang.

i'm going to be swapping my 670 FTW for a used Titan Black by the end of the year.
just wondering how good or bad the thermal grease(?) is on the reference cooler?
any gains to be had cleaning it and applying an aftermarket (NT-H1) thermal compound?
what about the memory? it will be either crunching SETI/Einstein@Home, or rendering Octane 24/7.

cheers

I wouldn't bother with changing it unless you have temperature issues

Many of us do reapply tim on video cards, even if it is brand new. I have tried the Noctua, but I have used IC7, MX-4, and Gelid Extreme all with good results. No need to bother with the memory. There will be pads on the hsf. You can run the card without changing the tim, if you are happy, no need to anything. I tend to replace the tim once a year, when I tear down my rig.
