Just got a GTX 970 today. I can't change the resolution to 1440x900 on my monitor because theres no option for it. I use a 1080p TV to play games though. I just use my monitor for general use. Any help at all? The monitor drivers and GTX970 drivers are up to date, I checked both and manually downloaded them. Can I force change it to 1440x900? Please and thanks

You can set up a custom resolution in the Nvidia Control Panel

ATMIN, you just made me so darn happy, I love your brain. Thank you SO MUCH seriously. I am so relieved. I had to look around to find the "Nvidia Control Panel" and thought... wait... "CONTROL PANEL" is in the dang name. haha thanks again mate.

Yep, I use the custom resolution to set my monitors to 61Hz :)
Knew as soon as I saw your post how you could do it :p

It keeps the monitor off of the AC frequency. It absolutely increased the depth of the monitors black for me.
