HDD for Media Server

Hey everyone, do you have any suggestions on what I need to look for in a hard drive for a media server? Its main use will be streaming 1080p videos (and not just over local Wi-Fi if that makes a difference). I assume I will want fast read times, but of course with lots of videos an SSD isn't the best option due to size and budget limitations.

60gb ssd on the cheap for the os
pick up a perc 5/6 and get you about 3-4 2TB hard drives in raid 5

Would a NAS drive be something to consider?
