Hello folks, just got a new monitor for Christmas and bought another monitor, same exact model, so I can run dual monitors. I am well aware three monitors is the way to go, but unfortunately I do not have the space for that at this time. Currently I am using both Acer LCD G247HL. I am pretty much on the beginner's path to learning the computer world and thought I could have dual monitors, playing Rome 2 Total War on one and watching a movie on the other...Obviously I was unable to do so. Sadly, I also encountered a very slow Rome 2 Total War on one monitor. I was wondering, how do I fix this? CAN I fix this? I'd appreciate any help, I know this is about as random of a post as it gets.

Merry Christmas to all, Happy Holidays to anyone of another faith.

It shouldn't noticeable affect your framerate by having the other monitor on. Is the slow framerate only happening when playing a movie on the other monitor? If so maybe try disabling hardware acceleration on whatever media player you use. Be warned though this would increase CPU usage by a lot.

Alternatively you could run the second monitor of your integrated GPU. It should work and for that monitor use that GPU's resources I believe. Transitions between monitors might not be smooth and it might not be ideal because it would mean having to do any GPU intensive tasks on one monitor.
