About a year ago I built a new computer and had some power supply issues. Some of the members here were far more helpful than the official Corsair forums so I am back with a new issue. I want to add another 8gb of ram to my computer so I ordered the same model, specs and from the same place ram. I figured if I could go so long without a issue that I should just have to pop the new ram in and go. But all the new ram does is throw errors when using the same settings as my original ram. I have tried one stick, both, all the slots, setting the voltage manually and nothing will prevent the new ram from throwing tons of errors and blue screening. Now if I run the new ram at a setting other than 2400 it seems to work fine. Passes mem test and boots and has no problems. But I am using a APU so every bit of speed I can run at is needed. Another important factor is I already rma'ed one set of the ram and second is doing the same thing. My original set is happy as can be to run at 2400 so I have no idea what I am doing wrong. If I have a setting wrong or need a secret pass phrase please let me know. Any help would be appreciated.

Here is link to the thread I started on the Corsair forums.

Here are my Specs

Case - Corsair 600T
Motherboard - MSI A88X-G45
CPU - AMD A10-7850K
RAM - Corsair Dominator Platinum 8GB (4x2) DDR3 2400
HDD1 - Corsair Neutron Series GTX 120GB
Disc Drive - Plextor PX-891SAW
Fans - 2x120mm, 2x200mm
CPU Cooler - Corsair H80I
Power Supply - Corsair AX860

And here are some pictures of mem test, my bios settings and CPU-Z. There are 2 of mem test. One showing with the new RAM and one with only the old. And the CPU-Z one shows only my original RAM.

It's not guaranteed that this memory will work on AMD platform @2400 or higher. Barely any memory manufacturer is performing longer tests on AMD.
2nd thing is that CL16 is for sure wrong and most of the DDR3 kits wouldn't even boot at this CL.
Set everything manually as for sure motherboard is reading timings wrong. Try something like 2400 11-12-12 or 11-13-13 1.50 or 1.65V and command rate 2. If it won't work then check something like 2133 CL10-12-12 or similar.

To make it work @2400 probably you will have to play with CPU-NB voltage. I mean memory controller voltage which will stabilize memory at 2400. Something about 1.25-1.30V should be enough but I'm not sure so if you won't make it run at auto settings then try manually bumping this voltage up to 1.35V.

Thanks a lot for the help. I changed things from auto to your suggested settings and it seems to be working so far. Here are some pictures of my new settings, mem test, and cpuz. If I should change anything else let me know. Thanks again for the help.

With AMD chips as Woomack pointed out sometimes they need a bit more Cpu Nb Voltage to run high Mhz ram. My Fx 8350 needs 1.3875 Cpu Nb Voltage to run my sticks at 1866. If you have it up and running now try stress testing it with Aida 64, Prime 95, Occt or Memtest. If you find it fails try adding some more Cpu Nb voltage, just watch the temps because adding Cpu Nb volts will increase the Cpu temps.

Thanks for the info. I will definitely try one of those to make sure its happy with the current settings. As to the temps I am not to worried. With the H80i 34c is about as hot as it gets while gaming and having the fans manually set to 50%.
