Damn blue and yellow shields!

How do I get rid of the blue and yellow shields on the icons on Windows 8.1? I turned the UAC user account something rather off.

Right click on the icon, scroll down to properties. Go to Change Icon (middle button). Once you open that you'll see an identical icon. Click on it, click ok, then click apply and watch the cursed blue/yellow shield just disappear! I just did it and it works You're going to have to do this to all the icons that you want to change one by one.

You can try that to make it less of a problem, the other thing that may hold something is right click the icon and select properties, then browse through the diffrent tabs and try other settings.
