I have been having some issues with memory for a while now.
Originally I had an issue with the memory giving errors when I used 2 sets of dual channel memory as specified above.
Having 3 or more sticks of ram would cause errors in memtest86.
So i tried the normal. Increased voltage to the memory. I found as I increased the voltage to the memory the more errors i would get. From 4 errors an hour at 1.5v i got 14 errors an hour at 1.52v thousands of errors at 1.6v.
Seeing this pattern I decided to lower the voltage and the lower the voltage the less errors i would get.
Finally at 1.45v I got zero errors in memtest
After 20 hours of no errors I decided to try prime 95
In about an hour prime 95 gives me rounding errors and starts shutting cores down.
Puzzled I started doing some research and it was hard to find answers.
Eventually I found a data sheet. I had people saying it does not and people saying it does.
Apparently my CPU does not native support 1600 ram.
So I decided to run the ram at 1333 at 1.5v and I get no errors in memtest and no complaints from prime95
BUMMER! But this makes since. I believe that by down volting the ram I was actually starving it causing it to run slightly slower.
I don't know where to go from here. I believe this requires overclocking the CPU?
What can I do to make this ram work at the 1600 speed.
I have attempted relaxing the timings. 1600 1.5v at 11-11-11-30
I think that is pretty loose but prime 95 does still not like them running at 1600.
What changes do I need to make to allow the cpu to play ball with this ram or am I SOL?
