I need an expandable 120mm aio, recommendations

Dose anyone make one? pump needs to be rad side like the swifteck 140-x.

long story short, watercooled 390x2 in a corsair 380t case.

its either that or im buying a 295x2 and cutting the case so it fits, very long card.
 
well case sise mostly, i have other options.

basically, i have room for 1 240 aio and 1 120.

im trying to decide which component gets the 240 spot and which gets the 120.

im probably over thinking stuff.

if i get a 295x2 then the 4690k gets a h100gtx

if i land a 390x2 ill need to watercool it as the 390x2 is a tipple slot card, id use swifteck 240 drive rad or a 240-x aio on the card and a h80gtx on the 4690k.

Not a bad idea, but for the record the 390 (single) is already quite the heater. I would doubt the a 240mm AIO will be enough to cool the 390x2 alone.

If I remember correctly, the formula for cooling is 120mm per 100w of heat ( I may be far off). My 390 pushes out alot more than 200w of heat under heavy gaming. So I would think a 390x2 under load will push about 400w of heat (give or take). A 240mm AIO will not be enough to cool it and will be overpowered by the heatload. You're looking at a minimum 360mm rad just for the video card alone.

Looks like you're gonna need a bigger case.
 
The 295x2 doesn't push out as much heat as the 390x2. If you plan on using a 120mm rad on a 390x2, good luck with that.

if i go 390x2 ill put a 240 rad on it and a 120 on the 4690k

I just explained it to you in post #4. No way a single 120mm rad will be enough to keep a 390x2 cool. Too much heat.

you locgic is at fault, a 295x2 is two full 290x cores the 390x2 is cores for a 390 (290x=390x 290=390)

the 295x2 would and should run hotter.

least imho.
 
You are correct. But if you think a 120mm rad will be enough to cool down a 390x2, then by all means go for it. I'd like to see pics of that.

all i can say is that it worked on the 295X2 lol moot point if i cant find a 12o aio that i can hood it up to, seems like a 240 will be in the cards

also which ever card i manage to find cheapest
 
Well, I guess you don't need our help then. I'll bet that 120mm rad was really fighting to get that heatload out from a 295x2.

Nope, not at all. The 295x2 you had must've been a cherry picked for you to be able to keep it cool with just a single 120mm rad.

Hopefully the 390x2 you get will be the same. Keep your fingers crossed.

I'm in the process of getting a full cover block and a secondary 360mm rad for my 390.
 
they make 390x2 waterblocks?
even getting 390 waterblocks are slim pickings, might have to some crazy ghetto rigging with 2 aio's

I think the 120.1 rad on dual GPU's is a gimmick while it does some cooling and has a big center fan. You still get air temps regardless. Two separate GPU's usually are a bit faster than a dual GPU. Also, I would go with the 390x2 than the 295x2 since the 390x2 is newer with twice the amount of Vram.

I'd be extremely comfortable running an x2 on a proper 120 + 240. Theres not much reasoning behind it not working properly. The carte blanche statements don't apply.

My air cooled 390x doesn't get over 70c in benchmarking loads. Why you feel the need for a 360 rad, I can only speculate...
