What system is this going in? Why not go for a 2x4gb kit instead?

GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK with an i5 4690k.

Reason for not having 2x4gb sticks? I have two:

1. The motherboard is beat to hell and it seems two ram slots aren't working.
2. I want to, at some point, move up to 16gb.

Eventually I'll sell this board and get one in better condition (after a partial Ebay refund I wound up getting it for 20 bucks... no big loss), at that point I'll probably be looking to move up to 32gb of RAM. I certainly don't want to be stuck with 2x4gb chips. I'm ALREADY stuck with 4x1GB chips... where two of them are kind of useless since only two RAM slots seem to be working.

I would grab these, or if you can swing it a pair of them while they are on sale. Better timings than the set you linked for cheaper.

Looks like a great stick.

Only problem? I'm on like the other side of the PLANET... literally. I'm in Berlin. :)

I only mentioned the Crucial because they're the cheapest things I can get my hands on over here. (Must be a German company or something...)
