help with network

ok i set my set up my netwrok with one windows 98se computer and one windows xp computer i can play games and everything but since i installed the network card on the windows98se pc it takes 3 minutes to boot up and it use to take 45seconds to boot is there a way to speed the pc back up thanks to all that helped

Yes, disable DHCP and assign it it's own IP address.

I dont know how much of a gain that is I've been using DHCP for a few years now and I still have low boot times. maybe a minute an a half(about 30 - 45 secs with a clean system without my development SW installed).
