SOLVED Asus SmartDoctor 1628 failed to complete installation

When I try to install Asus Smartdoctor v5.8 I receive the message "1628: failed to complete installation." I've been trying to get this POS to work for awhile now. And this is the only software that lets me change the voltage of my EAH6970.

I am on a fresh install of w7 64, fully updated.

i've tried deleting my temp folders, but no luck.

looking for anything to try to get this to install. thanks!

Nevermind, I fixed it.

All I did was rename the installshield folder.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\InstallShield

add a one to that "1" and rerun your installer. It will create a new folder.

I guess there was a file in the original install-shield folder that was corrupt.

This also solved my problem and I was compelled to sign up to this forum and post a reply.
