Update to my cooling woes. After burning up one 1.2tbird I figured the blame was me and/or my PAL6035. Well...got my new tbird today and was pinching bullets out of my seat while pushing the power button. WELL!!!
To my astonishment my BIOS was saying 91°F!!!! It used to read 123-25F and in windows MBM reported idle of about 105-7F. I've installed a Delta fan from the Sunon which contributes to some of it....but my new TBird runs at 83-86F while on the internet and goes even lower at full idle. Its only 8-9°F above ambient temps and even on startup I haven't seen it break 100F. WOW!!!!

congrats to you, i am having some of my own duron woes right now and understand the pain of what you went through.
