just 7v that delta, its a direct flow fan and works very well. 120mm fans have a huge dead spot on that heatsink, and the results are worse even with a really loud 120mm fan.

so dont do it :)
 
unless of course u wanted to do a direct duct from a 120mm fan on ur side panel straight to the bare ax-7, that would work just fine.
 
i calculate just under 50 with a vantec, and the dba isnt that bad. just use a rheostat so u can up the voltage when u want to, and then put it down when u dont need the noise.
 
aye, just leave ur heatsink bare and a direct duct should do nicely.
