My brother updated his Asus A7M266 BIOS tonight from 1004 to 1007. His computer specs are:
Enermax 431W PSU
Athlon 1.4 Tbird
Asus A7M266 Mobo
512mb pc2100 RAM
WinXP Pro
MSI GF4 Ti4600
He used the windows updater program that came on his Asus motherboard CD. Now his athlon 1.4 will only run at 1050mhz. If he sets it in the BIOS to 1.4ghz and exits out, WinXP starts loading and it restarts itself every single time. So now he's stuck at 1050mhz with a 1.4ghz chip.
I have heard to only use the windows updater if your BIOS is not too outdated. If he reflashed to 1007 again using Aflash on a floppy disk, could that fix it? If Aflash is the key to getting everything back to normal, should he reflash back to 1004 first and then use Aflash to update to 1007?
Any help is appreciated!!
