What is the difference between an Athlon XP and an Athlon MP?

Hi I am soon going to buy a new CPU. I am wondering what the difference is between an Athlon Xp and an Athlon MP?

MPs are designed to run in multiple processor computers. Otherwise, they are the same.

I think MP's are also unlocked too, but I'm not 100% on that

MP's don't have the last L5 bridge cut, they cost more, and they're called MP's

MPs are certified to work in a SMP system, while XPs may or may not work.
