just recently purchased at&t cable modem, came with an rca modem.

how do you disable firewall and start to open up ports?

also, i have a netopia r7200 router that i would like to hook up the cable to so i can router the connection to multiple computers. how is this done?

from what i kno, cable modems aren't firewalls. they just connect you to at&t. i have a 3com and some frens have the same one you do. no protection built in at all. some one correct me if im wrong

i called tech support and they said that there is no firewall built into the modem, so thats good.

also, for that netopia routing, i need to purchase a $100 dollar add-on module in order to network the cable modem......

might as well purchase a lynksis cable router for 60 bucks instead.

damn... have a new netopia unused that cost me $375..

anyone wants to buy it?

will take digital photos and even meet you in video conference for proof.
