firmware to increase the write speed of a CXR145E

I have Sony CXR144E. I was wondering if any-one knew of any firmware that i could poisibly use to increase the the writing speeds of this drive. current speeds are 10X write, 4X rewrite, and 32X read. I realize I would probably have to flash it with the firmware of a different model.

this should be possible as I have done this to my creative dvd drive to make it region free. it is now a panasonic dvd drive.
